Haggai 1:5-7 - Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

Twice in these three verses, God says, "Consider your ways." In between both injunctions, He describes a situation similar to what many are facing these days. Lately, it seems like no matter how hard we work, it's not enough. Prices keep getting higher while wages are shrinking. God's instruction to consider our ways makes me think that obedience to Him must be directly related to my prosperity in this life. Also, He is teaching me, on a daily basis, that He will provide, no matter what disparity there is between my income and my expenses, as long as I live in fellowship with Him.
